Amashova 2026
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Take on the Amashova Classic on Sunday 19 July, with a choice of 40km, 70km or 106km routes and a spectacular finish in Durban.
From a bold idea in 1986 to a 40-year legacy, the Amashova Classic has become South Africa’s oldest classic cycle race.
Inspired by the iconic Comrades Marathon route, it grew from 150 riders into KwaZulu-Natal’s biggest cycling event, drawing thousands each year. With full road closures, a thrilling Durban finish, and decades of determination behind it, the Shova is more than a race.
It’s a celebration of grit, growth, and the spirit of cycling. Now it’s your turn. Sunday 19 July. Choose 40km, 70km or 106km.
