What can guests expect on the night?
The event features a stellar supporting lineup, including DJ Jazzy D, 2 Unique, J Sbu, and Lyle D featuring Jade. Veteran broadcaster and MC J Sbu will host the evening and his excitement is palpable.
"I grew up in Durban, man, Karyn White. We hear on Sundays, you know that Superwoman song, I'd Rather Be Alone, Can I Stay with You. These are songs we hear every Sunday and they're sentimental to that experience."
He reflects on what those songs meant growing up. "Sundays are generally days where we get to connect with our family. Mom's busy in the kitchen. Dad is just relaxing outside, maybe polishing his shoes. Everything's happening in slow motion."
Why is this concert significant for KZN?
J Sbu believes the concert carries deeper meaning for the province. "It's a big one for KZN. It just also proves that Durban is seen as a platform, a place where international artists can come and sell out and perform, and that's a huge acknowledgement."
He adds, "I'm also glad for the recognition that she's coming down to Durban to perform for us, which is pretty cool."
