WATCH: Robots deployed to stock shelves in Toyko stores

Does this mean that several people will lose their jobs?


With the introduction of the fourth industrial revolution, fundamental changes have and will be seen in the way we live, work, and relate to one another.

This will mean making life simpler for some, but also financially challenging for many who will stand to lose their jobs as technology takes over some skills.

A video has emerged of a robot stocking shelves and shifting items at two stores in Japan. According to reports, the robot (whose name is Model-T) has been deployed by the stores and can be controlled by shop staff remotely. The robot is able to "grasp, or pick and place, objects of several different shapes and sizes into different locations."
