When M-Net announced that it would bring viewers a local version of the smash hit international reality dating show The Bachelor in 2019, the same question popped into many heads: Who would the brave (but lucky) Prince Charming be to put his heart on the line to woo, and be wooed, by a bevy of beautiful local lasses?

The pay channel finally revealed that the lucky man was Lee Thompson, a former Sharks rugby player and an entrepreneur with several successful business ventures on his resume. He also happens to be a sought-after international model, and when he’s not cutting deals or pumping iron in the gym, he dedicates his time to meaningful charity work.

But they were still tight-lipped about the host of the show. And today for the first time I can reveal that the host of season 1 of The Bachelor SA is none other than popular South African actor and television personality, Jason Greer.

Jason has burned up the small screen for the better part of 11 years and is well-respected in his industry. His strong, vibrant presence and reputable voice have kept him busy over the past decade.

Jason has co-hosted, 'SpellBound', M-Net's most recent game show that sees contestants spelling their way to a possible R100,000! He has also presented a number of other successful shows including the eNCA show 'Tech Report' (DSTV channel 403) 'Top Travel' and the award-winning 'All Access'. He has also appeared in numerous TV commercials and corporate videos, and his voice is a regular across a variety of media.

His notable resume of clients has allowed Jason to acquire great experience, which he brings to every event, delivering perfectly every time, be it casual or corporate.

Like every other reality show, the name Jason Greer is set to become synonymous with The Bachelor SA and we all wish him every bit of success.

The Bachelor SA airs on Valentine’s Day 2019.
