SEE: NASA secretly dropped images of Jupiter

Did anyone else see such an amazing sight?

People who are intrigued by space, the universe, and beyond were treated to a wonderful sighting this week. 

According to the Mail Online, the first full-colour photos taken by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have been released.

Among those images in the commissioning report are two brand new photos of Jupiter.

The images of the planet were taken by the telescope when it was being tested.

Many people who got to view the images were left amazed at the beautiful sighting.

The two pictures were taken by JWST's Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam). Each time it captures a picture, it uses a different filter to highlight the separate wavelengths of light.

The commissioning report summarises the six months of testing the JWST machine went through and was released on Wednesday alongside the first official set of deep space photos.

No wonder many people online took to social media to marvel at such a beauty. 

The images that were captured show Jupiter with three of its moons. These moons are Europa, Thebe, and Metis.

One thing is for sure, scientists are hard at work when it comes to discovering the secrets of the galaxy, stars, and universe.
