Package mistaken for bomb contained something much cuter

Bomb threats are very real and should be taken very seriously, however, this story luckily ended on a much more positive note!

In America, bombs, or packages containing bombs, tend to be a much more common occurrence.

This doesn't mean that South Africa hasn't had its fair share of threats, it just doesn't tend to happen as often as in some other countries.

That's why if a South African were to see a random, unmarked package placed outside their door, the first thought to cross their mind would not necessarily be "bomb".

Whereas in America it might, and that is exactly what happened when a suspicious package was spotted outside a church in New Miami, Ohio.

The Butler County Sheriff's Office received a call stating there was a possible bomb threat and the bomb squad was dispatched as quickly as possible.

When they arrived at the scene, they were surprised to find that it wasn't a bomb, but something else entirely!

As it turns out, the "bomb" was actually a cat family!

The bag contained a mother cat and her six newborn kittens.

It also contained a note, which didn't explain much but it did say that the momma cat's name is Sprinkles.

Without hesitation, the mom and her day-old kittens were taken to the Animal Friends Human Society where they have been expertly taking care of the family.

They had also posted an update to let people know how the furbabies are doing and it seems like all is well, thanks to Sprinkles being an excellent mother:

While the family is ready to head out to their foster homes, Animal Friends Human Society did mention that they are not abandoning them again.

For the next two months, the animal shelter will be monitoring the feline family closely and they will continue providing updates to the public.

What a happy ending to a story that could have ended very differently.
