'Life of Pi' star dies at 53

Bollywood star Irrfan Khan passed away on Wednesday morning.

According to The Guardian, Irrfan Khan was admitted to the intensive care unit of Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital on Tuesday with a colon infection. The announcement of his death was released in a statement on Wednesday morning.

His death caused Indians and fans around the world to mourn the loss of an icon. Celebs such as Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, as well as Indian ministers took to social media to express their condolences.

Khan is well known for his role as the police inspector in 'Slumdog Millionaire', as well as roles in 'Jurassic World' and 'Life of Pi'.
