Guidelines for when field workers come to your home
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Social media users raised concerns regarding strangers knocking on their doors. We've found a few guidelines as to what to look out for.
According to Sowetan Live, the Health Department's Deputy Director, Dr Yogan Pillay, said there are strict measures in place for identifying an official:
- All workers will carry identification badges
- Wear the same T-shirts
- Carry their official ID documents
- Police will accompany all field workers
- Community leaders will be alerted about field workers in their areas. They would need to alert the community on when to expect the field workers
This decision comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Monday, 30 March, that field workers have been brought on board to do door-to-door testing.
