Olympic athlete Pita Taufatofua has yet to make contact with his father after the "devastating" tsunami hit Tonga. In order to help with the relief effort, the taekwondo and cross-country skiing athlete established a GoFundMe fundraising page. The first contactless aid was delivered on Thursday as Tonga aims to keep the nation COVID-19 free.

South Africa has declared a national disaster after torrential rains in several parts of the country resulted in deaths, flooding, and damage to property and infrastructure, according to a notice in the Government Gazette. 

In KwaZulu-Natal, Ladysmith, Msinga, and several other areas have been affected.
