Finally, you can get your Dubai travel plans back in motion!

The Dubai Omicron-induced ban on South African travellers has come to an end. 

It was seen as unscientific by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) and various politicians.

So... now you can make your way to Dubai! 

Emirates will fly passengers out of Johannesburg on Saturday, 29 January 2022, for the first time in two months following the easing of travel restrictions.

You can head back to the drawing board and get your trip with your family or friend back in the works.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Wednesday that travellers from South Africa – and 11 other African nations – would be allowed to enter the country from Saturday, 29 January. 

Emirates flight EK 762 departs Johannesburg at 13:25, arriving in Dubai at 23:45.

A very important note to make ahead of your travel plans is that all passengers travelling from Johannesburg to Dubai need to present a negative PCR test result – with scannable QR code – obtained within 48 hours of departure.

If your final destination is Dubai, you will be retested upon arrival at the airport. You will also be required to self-isolate until you receive the test results. If positive, you will be required to quarantine.

Kids under 12 are exempt from these testing requirements.

You will only be allowed to travel if you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Another note to make is that entry into most venues and public spaces is only permitted for those who have the Al Hosn app and can confirm that they have been fully vaccinated.
