Coronavirus: Two-year-old tests positive for COVID-19 in SA

On Tuesday night, the Department of Health confirmed that the total number of coronavirus cases in South Africa has risen to 85.

The latest cases include four children, the youngest being a two-year-old. Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, said that there are now eight cases of local transmission.

On Sunday evening, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared that South Africa is now in a National State of Disaster.

Gatherings of 100 plus people are now prohibited, while social distancing is being preached.

Remember to sanitise and don't touch your face. Follow these steps when you wash/sanitise your hands:

  1. Apply a palm-full of the product in a cupped hand using your elbow
  2. Dip fingernails of the opposite hand into your soap or alcohol solution. Rotational rubbing of fingertips with clasped fingers of the right hand, then pour into the other hand and repeat
  3. Rub hands palm to palm
  4. Right palm over the back of the left hand with interlaced fingers and vice versa
  5. Palm to palm with fingers interlaced
  6. Back of fingers to opposing palms with fingers interlocked
  7. Rotational rubbing of left thumb clasped in right palm and vice versa
  8. Rub in a rotational manner around each wrist and mid-forearm. Continue rubbing until the skin is dry
