Josie Field & Laurie Levine 'Side by Side' tour
They've been dubbed "the collaboration of the year".
Singer/songwriters Josie Field and Laurie Levine are in KZN this weekend for four shows.
Their 'Side by Side' tour offers a real aucostic treat.
They're at Northwood Crusaders Sports Club on Thursday, at Mantis & the Moon Backpackers in Umzumbe on Friday, at The George Hotel in Eshowe on Saturday and on Sunday you can see them at Music in the Meadow in Hillcrest.

By now we all know about the Carpe Durban parties at The Winston. Every Thursday seems better than the last so if you are feeling like a Phuza Thursday venture, you know what to do. The damage is just R30.

Rek And Roll @ The Winston
Most Durbanites complain about how we never get to see any good live music, but between LIVE and The Winston we've had some amazing gigs in the past few weeks. Taxi Violence, Bittereinde, Squeal, Jesse Clegg and more. On Friday night, The Winston plays host to some new underground acts and entrance is free. So turn that frown upside down and get involved. There are also free shots at the door for the first peeps to arrive. Doors open at 8pm.
Mozambiq In Florida Road
Finally, the renowned Mozambiq restaurant from Ballito has opened its doors this side of the river. They’ve moved into the back courtyard at Spiga, while Spiga D’Ora has extended onto the old Nandos. Mozambiq offers great Portuguese cuisine with a warm atmosphere. They’re open Monday-Sunday from 12pm-10pm. Make a booking now to avoid disappointment.

Africa Plus @ KZNSA Gallery, Glenwood
The perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon? We think so! Jazz trio Africa Plus will be performing at the KZNSA from 2pm. Comprising Lungelo Ngcobo on piano, Prince Bulo on bass and Sphelelo Mazibuko on drums, Africa Plus draws musical influence from rich traditional African elements with a base drawn from Western advanced harmonies. All three members are highly sought after in South Africa as well as internationally - and have toured extensively. R60 will get you through the door.
The Year Of The Bicycle @ The Loft Theatre
This 2013 Standard Bank Ovation Award winner returns from sold out shows in Cape Town and Germany. It’s the story of TWO estranged friends who fall into a concussion at the same moment. It features Amy Wilson and Aphiwe Livi, and is written and directed by Joanna Evans. The Cape Times said this about the show “Bittersweet, this inspired bit of off-beat theatre will appeal to adults and teens alike”. Sounds like something definitely worth a watch. Tickets are R80 and it only runs till Sunday. Showtimes are at 7:30. Book at Computicket.
Track Grrrls @ LIVE
This Saturday at LIVE sees an all girl line up taking the stage as a fundraiser for the South African Roller Derby Team’s trip to the Roller Derby World Cup. On the line-up are Habit To, Kissed By Katie, The Volsunga Saga, DJ Bean and VJ M.I.A. Help out the Roller Derby women and catch a very rare all female line-up. Doors open at 8pm and it will cost you R50.
