Wedding proposal at Maynards Beach Festival!
The 24-year-old thought that boyfriend Darren Moodley had taken advantage of the magnificent weather to drive them to the beach to spend the day at the Maynards Beach Festival. But Darren had cooked up something more special!
Darren, from Chatsworth, managed to convince his girlfriend of two years to get on stage and compete in the Miss Maynards contest. Little did Leenesha know that the title up for grabs wouldn’t be “Miss” but “Mrs”!
As soon as Leenesha took her place alongside other contestants, Darren leapt on stage, got down on one knee, presented his lady love with a ring and asked her to marry him.
Completely stunned and visibly shaking, Leenesha tearfully said yes!
Later, looking back at his romantic gesture, Darren said he had no idea what he was babbling on about when he was on bended knees and hoped that he made sense!
The wedding proposal came amidst much fun and hype as the Maynards Beach Festival with East Coast Radio moved from Margate to Durban.
Damon Beard made the biggest splash together with listener Angeleen Reddy, claiming the title of Juiciest Kaboom! for this leg of the Festival. Breakfast sport presenter, Alain Tardin, snatched victory in the jump in Margate on Friday.
While day two of the festival wrapped up early in Margate on Saturday, locals and holidaymakers had magnificent weather in Durban.
The vibe at uShaka Beach was electric. The Maynards Beach Festival with East Coast Radio wraps up in Durban today.
Ballito gets the chance to rock on Tuesday and Wednesday when all the adrenalin-packed action moves to Willard Beach.
