Updated | By tanstan fourie
The most terrifying footage has emerged of the moment an earthquake-triggered avalanche hit Everest base camp.
German climber Jost Kobusch, posted a video on his YouTube channel a day after the earthquake, with the description: "The ground was shaking from the earthquake and as soon as we saw people running we were running ourselves to save our lives."
The video begins calmly, where a number of people can be heard laughing in the background. But seconds later their voices are filled with urgency as the climbers realise a huge cloud of snow is coming down from the mountain on to the campsite.
