Sorisha Naidoo's High Tea

Sorisha Naidoo's High Tea

It’s not often that a billionaire’s wife opens her home to the public for a charity high tea, and it's not often that you get to be part of a reality TV show in the making.

On Wednesday afternoon Sorisha Naidoo did all of that by giving Durban women a glimpse into her glamorous life at her charity high tea held in the garden of her Umhlanga home - as the camera rolled in the background for the upcoming reality TV series, The Real Housewives of Johannesburg.

And amidst the fluffy meringue tarts and high fashion dresses, it was the cast of the new series who stole the show.

While I missed the dark haired Barbie Doll lookalike Aimee Sadie - who had a flight to catch - I got to chat to two of the cast members, Christy and Puleng.

Christy Swanepoel, a super fit mum of two who runs a business with her ex-husband, and Puleng Mash-Spies of Come Dine with Me fame, agree that the South African version of the show will be especially different from the other Real Housewives shows.

“The South African one will have more substance - so that a young girl watching in Khayelitsha can have someone to look up to,” said Puleng.

The Real Housewives of Johannesburg is set to start airing early next year.
