Ah....All is well!

It was nearly a couple weeks ago now that my pet cat Pepper ceased to exist.

Remember when you helped pick his name on the show?

Let’s rewind 5 months. He was the cutest thing ever! Unaware of his new surroundings, this little ball of fur became part of the family the instant I carried him through the front door. As such, he quickly adapted to his new kingdom and was the bearer of joy and good laughs. Its only when YOU lose something, do you appreciate it.

A cliché I know.

Both my wife and I were devastated the night we found out of his demise. I was getting ready to go on air that fateful Thursday night when all resistance crumbled. Nothing prepares you for it! Here, was this big lump in my throat, reminiscing on a life that was all so young and immature.

So innocent, yet, that life was no more. I saw what remained of Pepper the next morning after the radio show. Eyes still opened as if he wanted to run to the safety of my front yard but unfortunately wasn’t able to. They say cats have nine lives. Even if this was its first, personally I wouldn’t want anything or anyone to go through that again. It got me thinking of the world and how many lives are lost each and every day. Some are old, others sick but the majority of which die too soon before their time.

The one thing I’ve realised is that only those close to the individual or even an animal will feel its loss the greatest and for years to come. They say time heals, I’m sure it does, but while you feel that pain the world goes on like Ah…all is well!
