Love has no labels

The Ad Council in the USA has launched a new public service announcement called Love Has No Labels. It challenges us to open our eyes to our bias and prejudice and work to stop it in ourselves, our friends, our families, and our colleagues.

Watching this, I smiled all the way through and near the end something stirred and I wept softly. 

Why is it that love can't be a beautiful exchange - regardless of race, sex, religion, age and gender?

Instead, people the world over are persecuted for who they choose as their ‘one’. 

Underneath it all we are all the same with red beating hearts, connecting veins and a desire to be loved and accepted. 

I wonder if I will ever be a part of a world that accepts difference, choice and uniqueness. 

All I can do is start with me and hope that through my actions my kids will learn that tolerance and great love are two gifts that some search for and never find. 

Put down your words and weapons of mass destruction and love. 

All we have is here and now. Only great love will do.
