KFC Mini-Cricket Kids vs Proteas Tour
A national competition will be launched between Saturday, 13 September and Tuesday, 14 October 2014 where kids can stand a chance to play against the Proteas in the 2014/15 KFC Mini-Cricket Kids vs Proteas Tour.
Protea men and women will play again in the second year of the KFC Mini-Cricket Kids vs Proteas Tour games.
The prizes for the winners include:
First prize:
Three winners and their school Mini-Cricket teams will have the chance to play the Proteas in a curtain raiser game at the KFC T20 International series in January in JHB, CT and DBN
There will be training sessions hosted at the winning kid’s school where a former Proteas player will come in as an Assistant Coach to assist the kids in getting ready for the match against the Proteas
A warm up game as a curtain raiser to a Ram Slam T20 game at a stadium
Second prize
Three winners and their school teams will get active as ball boys and girls at the Ram Slam T20 challenge
Third prize
100 kids from all over the country will win KFC Mini-Cricket sets
KFC Mini-Cricket Programme
Since KFC started sponsoring KFC Mini-Cricket in 2012, the programme has grown by 30% from 83 638 kids getting active to 107 000 kids, KFC Mini-Cricket currently has 8094 coaches and 4 986 schools involved in the programme.
The 2014/15 KFC Mini-Cricket season cricket calendar will consist:
Three KFC Mini-Cricket Kids vs Proteas tour games.
Three KFC T20 Internationals games (Proteas vs West Indies).
Twenty Ram Slam T20 Challenge games (Associate sponsorship).
As per the programme every year there will be sixteen KFC Mini-Cricket Provincial Festivals nationwide where KFC Mini-Cricket Kids are invited to showcase their skills.
KFC Mini-Cricket forms part of the Cricket South Africa development. There are 12 players that won the recent ICC U19 World Cup that started cricket by playing Mini-Cricket.
In the 2013/2014 season KFC Mini-Cricket held 17 622 fixtures and 374 regional festivals around the country.
KFC is the event sponsor of the KFC T20 internationals.
KFC uses the T20 Internationals as a platform to allow the KFC Mini-Cricket kids to meet and interact with their cricketing heroes.
KFC is an associate sponsor of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.
As an associate sponsor KFC gave KFC Mini-Cricket kids the opportunity to participate in the coin toss with the franchise team captains.
