5 stocking filler ideas that won't break the bank

What is Christmas without stocking fillers? This year be your family’s favourite gift giver by getting something thoughtful.

Mom: We all wish we could fill our mom’s Christmas stocking with all her favourite things like diamonds, shoes and a sports car.

But when it comes to moms all they really want is to know that they are loved… and maybe some time off.

You can give her both with these pamper products.

It might seem cheesy, but ensure her it’s her ‘time-out’ card.

Try out the below vegan, organic products from LUSH.

Their bath bombs are incredible and leave you feeling like a moisturized princess.

Also try Clicks or the Body Shop for other cheaper options.

Dad: Men like functionality. If I left my dad to his own devices he would buy me a petrol card every year. There’s no use buying him something he’ll never wear and somebody has definitely bought him socks or boxers already so I recommend tools. Dads always need tools and every toolbox could do with an extra set of screwdrivers, batteries or a hammer. Don’t even try understand but trust me, he’ll smile. Head down to your local Builders Warehouse or Mica to see what you can find.

Brother:  Remember when it comes to boys it’s ALL about functionality and the one functional thing all boys seem to never have is…sunscreen. Boys being boys don’t seem to have the sense to buy themselves the stuff, or if they do they promptly lose it and steal ours. Buy him his own bottle and write his name on it. Definitely go for a higher factor, as they never remember to re-apply. Nivea do a great Sportsman bottle. But just about any brand will do the trick.

Sister: There are so many things to buy for sisters that it can get overwhelming. Also, they tend to be incredibly fussy - but what we all have in common is the magic we find in magazines. Whether it’s catching up on all the latest celeb gossip or the latest home décor trends and tips or on places to plan her next holiday - it will give her some ‘me’ time that we all need around this time of year. Just make sure you’ve got her an issue that she hasn’t already read! Also do some investigating and you could perhaps bust out and get her a subscription to her favourite title. Magazines usually run really good deals on their subscription offerings this time of year.

Nan: Dear Nan. She always gets stuck with chocolates or nougat. This year give her a little extra something to melt her heart. Find a family pic, print it and put it in a cute frame for her mantelpiece, she’ll take much joy in running through each member of the photograph with all her friends that come to visit. Try Mr. Price Home for well priced frames.

For other quirky gifts for friends and family go look at The Space, Superbalist (online) or TYPO.
