Dolphins v Lions could decide title

Durban will host a top-of-the-table clash in the Sunfoil Series this week.

Bizhub Highveld Lions are at the summit and Sunfoil Dolphins second ahead of the action at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.

It is a game the Lions probably can afford to draw, while the Dolphins most likely have to win and also hope the Lions lose their final match next week.

The Dolphins will in all probability have to win both their remaining fixtures, which includes the one in Durban this week.

The Lions have impressed with both bat and ball in the Sunfoil Series this season.

The likes of Stephen Cook, Neil McKenzie and Temba Bavuma are all averaging over 50 with the bat.

They also have three bowlers who have taken 24 wickets or more in Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada and Hardus Viljoen.

Morne van Wyk sure deserves a mention from a Dolphins perspective.

The skipper averages 75 in the Sunfoil Series this season.

Keshav Maharaj has also starred for the Dolphins and only Dane Paterson has taken more Sunfoil Series wickets than Maharaj this season.

Paterson has 35 wickets and Maharaj and Rabada 32 each.

This all makes for a potential cracker at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead from tomorrow onwards.

The Dolphins squad for the Lions game is:

Imraan Khan, Daniel Sincuba, Divan van Wyk, Graham Hume  Khayelihle Zondo, Cody Chetty, Daryn Smit, Morne van Wyk, Keshav Maharaj, Matthew Pillans, Craig Kirsten, Daryn Dupavillon, Calvin Savage and Craig Alexander.
