Comrades Marathon visualisation
Updated | By Staff Writer
Comrades will start in Durban and end in Pietermaritzburg this year.
This is the 90th edition of what is a huge event on the annual KwaZulu-Natal sporting calendar.
Bongmusa Mthembu won the title last year, while Claude Moshiywa is the reigning up run champion.
The Nurgalieva twins were beaten by Ellie Greenwood last year and I look forward to seeing how the Russian sisters will respond to that upset defeat.
Nick Bester, winner of this epic race in 1991, feels that a time of 5 hours 35 minutes should be just about good enough for victory this year and it is a prediction I am also keen to keep an eye on.
Veteran runner and running journalist, Norrie Williamson, is expected to tackle his 21st Comrades this weekend.
Norrie shares the following visualisation of what can be expected on Sunday:
