Becoming Undead this Halloween

A highly contagious virus is spreading across the globe - no, it's not Ebola - and it's only a matter of time before you're 'Becoming Undead'.

A six-minute short film is bringing zombies to Durban just in time for Halloween.

Marc Williams, a wannabe filmmaker trapped in an accountant's body, says he got the idea for the movie two years ago and with the help of some seriously awesome friends has finally made his dream come true.

Becoming Undead tells the story of a man and his dog who go out searching for food and get attacked by zombies.

The lead characters are played by Jason Groom and Leah Bester - both from Kloof.

"All the actors are friends. They know how passionate I am about telling stories and it's always fun making them. We all met at a Church youth group in Pinetown many years ago and have been friends ever since. I also met our talented camera man Ignatius Gouws at church. 'Igg,' as we call him, has many years of experience and brought his massive broadcast camera for us to film with," says Williams.

"I only met Joy Meyer, the miracle make-up artist and photographer, two weeks before shooting through a friend who had roped her in to what we were doing. I have no doubt that she is the reason the film looks as awesome as it does," he added.

"Again - seriously awesome friends."
