1D fans threaten to 'cut for Zayn'
Updated | By Staff Writer
Twitter, Vine and Facebook have been buzzing with the news that Zayn has left One Direction – with the Mail Online reporting that more than 4 600 1D related tweets were sent per minute following the announcement.
Amidst all the angst, tears and hysteria the hashtags #cut4zayn and #cut41D have resurfaced – along with photos of slashed wrists and arms.
(The trend first emerged last year, after video footage of Zayn and Louis Tomlinson smoking a joint was leaked. Fans tried to stop them doing drugs by cutting themselves and posting the pics on social media)
It now seems that kids are hoping that by cutting themselves, Zayn will change his mind about leaving the group.
Can you imagine how Zayn must feel?! I mean really!?
Acts like this can lead to not only more self harm, but also suicide. Please don't #cut4zayn! People are here 4 you. pic.twitter.com/0eJNgxTovy

If they love him as much as they profess they do, would they project this type of sordid behaviour onto him?
Come on guys, let's keep things in perspective and rather channel your sadness into something you have control over.
Watch some of the despair that's been circulating below:
Meanwhile, some jokers have jumped on the bandwagon – making fun of the Directioners’ anguish. This doesn’t help matters; self-harm is a real thing which shouldn’t be taken lightly.
