#N3TruckFire: Eastbound carriageway closed near Pinetown

Emergency services are on the scene of a truck crash in Pinetown, which has forced the closure of the N3 eastbound, that is heading from Pietermartizburg towards Durban.
The truck has been engulfed by flames just after the Mariannhill Toll Plaza and before Richmond Road.
The vehicle had been transporting bales of hay. Firefighters are still busy dousing the flames.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says emergency services have found the body of the driver trapped beneath the bales of hay. Medics treated a second person on scene before rushing him to hospital.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.

The cause of the crash is still unknown at this stage. Initial indications are that the truck crashed into a sign post before the vehicle burst into flames.
