Body found in water off Durban beach

Authorities are investigating after a man's body was pulled from the water at a Durban beach this morning.
A group of surfers noticed something floating in the water at Bay of Plenty just after 5am.
After paddling out to get a closer look, they realised it was a man's body.
Some of the surfers quickly ran to the satellite police station at North beach to alert authorities.
Upon their return they found that other beachgoers had arrived at the scene and recovered the man's lifeless body from the water.

Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele confirmed the incident saying an inquest docket has been opened at Durban Central SAPS for further investigation.
The circumstances leading to the man's death are still unclear at the moment.
