Stray cow rescued from pit in Richards Bay
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A rescue of a cow in Richards Bay that took two hours to execute has been captured on video.
A cow that fell into an open drain has taken rescue services up to two hours to pull out of a drain in Alton in the northern KZN town.
As seen in the footage, a front end loader was used to gently lift the animal from the pit. Rescuers worked to ensure the cow did not sustain any injuries.
According to Zululand Observer, the Empangeni SPCA says the rise in stray cattle in the city has been a concern. Inspectors say the cow has been unhurt in the incident.
This comes as another cow was rescued after falling off a cliff earlier this month in Drummond, west of the province.
