Search for DA official missing in Nepal
Updated | By Refilwe Gaeswe
The first search and rescue flight in Pokhara, Nepal went out this morning in search of a missing plane that was carrying Democratic Alliance deputy leader in the North West, Petro Nel.
The party yesterday learnt that the ultra-light aircraft in which Nel was travelling was reported missing in Nepal where Nel is on holiday.
It is believed she had gone on a sightseeing flight when all contact with the aircraft was lost.
The DA's Chris Hattingh says search teams have resumed the search for Nel and the Russian pilot, who was the only other person on board the aircraft.
''The first flight went out this morning and after 19 minutes it came back, they didn't find anything. A helicopter then took off at 6:35am our time.
''So they're still busy with search and rescue and there are no news at the moment,'' he said.
