The 2010 Fifa World Cup will take place in South Africa. Whether you plan to be watching the games in a stadium or fan park on the southern tip of Africa, or on the screen back home, here's a collection of quick information on the tournament, and the host country, to help enhance your experience.
For four weeks starting on 11th June, South Africa will be the centre of the world. The 2006 World Cup in Germany was the most extensively viewed event in television history. This year's event will draw even bigger audiences.
Learn The South African National Anthem The Easy Way
It is the only neo-modal national anthem in the world, by virtue of being the only one that starts in one key and finishes in another. The lyrics employ the five most populous of South Africa's 11 official languages - Xhosa (first stanza, first two lines), Zulu (first stanza, last two lines), Sesotho (second stanza), Afrikaans (third stanza) and English (final stanza).

Forget the Macarena. Forget the moon walk. South Africa's own Diski Dance is set to get the world jiving at all the soccer games. The Diski Dance, comprising a series of choreographed soccer moves, features in a television advert from South African Tourism, aimed at generating excitement at home and abroad ahead of the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

King Shaka International, just north of Durban on the eastern seaboard, is South Africa’s newest airport, and it's all geared to be ready and waiting for the FIFA 2010 World Cup. It will replace Durban International Airport. Click here for pictures and more information.
