Every time the players made a shot though, they had to take down the basket and grab the ball, which became really annoying. Anisa: What is the largest country to have only ONE time zone?
China. In 1949, the entire country decided to adopt a single time zone. That’s like the US having LA, Denver, Chicago and New York all in the same time zone! China used to have five time zones but in 1949, the government decided to stick with just one. That’s because much of China was agricultural, and as farmers, people weren’t concerned about the official time of day because work was dictated by the sun and the needs of crops and livestock. Now with farmland being urbanized, many small communities are no longer reliant on farming. As the people become more involved in manufacturing, experts believe time will become more of an issue. To solve this dilemma, some communities use their own private time, along with the nations single zone time.

Anisa: We’ve all heard the expression “turn a blind eye.” Who coined that expression?
British Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson. In 1801 while the British navy was attacking the French, Nelson was ordered to pack up his ship and retreat because it seemed the French were in control. But Nelson refused saying he’d like to see the signal ordering retreat himself. Nelson then turned to his flag Captain, Thomas Foley, and said "You know, Foley, I only have one eye – I have the right to be blind sometimes," and then holding his telescope to his blind eye, said "I really do not see the signal!"
Able to honestly state that he had not seen any signal to retreat he kept on fighting. Eventually Nelson was the victor of the battle, and it left us with the proverbial saying 'to turn a blind eye.'
